Fox Sports holds broadcast rights for some of the biggest conferences in the NCAA including the PAC 12, the Big 12 and Conference USA. Seasons are notoriously unpredictable. The story, tone, focus of each matchup shifts from week to week. Teams rise and fall. Players get injured. Rivals meet. Fox needed a toolkit could adapt quickly but still feel cinematic, considered, elevated. 

There’s a lot at stake every week. Not just for the players, but for the coaches, the students, the cheerleaders, and the fans too. Everyone’s gunning for something; a first down, the Rose Bowl, bragging rights, the conference passing record, a pro scout’s eye. Each season, each game, each play is an opportunity, and that creates tension. Illustrating this tension was central to our approach. 

Offense and defense, action and reaction, victory and defeat, East and West, Trojans and Bruins... duality is at the heart of college football. We’re making that dividing line into a graphic device, splitting the frame to illustrate the similarities and contrasts of the opposing forces about to battle it out any given Saturday.
